AFX STUDIO is a full service Special Effects Make-Up lab located in Van Nuys, California. Owned and operated by David Leroy Anderson and his wife and partner, Heather Anderson.

David Anderson is a two-time Academy AwardR winning make-up artist who has been active in the Motion Picture Industry for twenty-two years.  At AFX STUDIO, David  and his crew design and manufacture special make-up effects for film and television: including character make ups, full prosthetic appliance make-ups as well as animatronics, fanciful creatures, fake heads, dummies, puppets and life-like animals. David is a member of Local 706 and has many years of on set, department head experience.

Recent AFX credits include David Ellis' upcoming horrorfest ASYLUM, Pete Segal's comedy GET SMART and Tom Shadyac's recent hit EVAN ALMIGHTY starring Steve Carrell.  In 2006 David was nominated for his work on CINDERELLA MAN for which he created a Jim Braddock character make-up for Russell Crowe and the boxing looks and fight wounds for all the actors/fighters. David's two Academy Awards (back to back) were given for his work applying the EDGAR make-up in MEN IN BLACK - a Rick Baker creation and also every Eddie Murphy look in THE NUTTY PROFESSOR - also a Rick baker creation. David is now working on the Ron Howard feature, FROST/NIXON starring Frank Langella.

Last year, David designed and created the FX for DEAD SILENCE and has worked on set on dozens of horror movies in the past twenty years - SHOCKER, SPAWN, PET SEMETARY, SERPENT AND THE RAINBOW among others.
